      <title>Council Tax Officer -IBS London RBL72395CM</title>
      <description>Our client in London is looking to recruit an experienced Council Tax Officer to join their busy Revenues department. 

The successful candidate must have a proven working background within Council Tax using the IBS system as training will not be provided. 

Key duties in this role include: 

- responsible for billing and collection of council tax and Non-Domestic Rates. 

- updating customer tax accounts and conducting an annual survey to ensure tax payers details are up to date. 

- responding to general enquires from the public about council tax. 

- assisting and reporting to the Council Tax Manager and liaise with other companies e.g. Benefits, Financial Services to ensure that everything runs smoothly. 

Knowledge of Council Tax legislation, data protection is essential for this role. Non-Domestic Rates and Benefits procedures is desirable. Excellent attention to detail and computer literacy is also required for this role as well as having excellent negotiation and customer service skills.

      <title>Benefit Assessment Officer - Academy East Anglia RBL72322CM</title>
      <description>Our client in Cambridgeshire is looking to recruit an experienced Benefits Assessment Officer to join their busy Benefits department.

The successful candidate MUST have at least 2 years working experience of Assessing Benefit claims, excellent customer service skills and a passion for the job. 

Key duties include: 

- Verify and validate claim details, making the necessary calculations to determine entitlement, taking decisions and notifying customers accordingly.

- Implement changes of circumstances, adjusting benefit entitlement accordingly, identifying any over-paid or over-claimed benefits and undertaking the review of claims in payment.

- Calculate over-payments of benefit, issuing appropriate notices and implementing recovery.

- Evaluate information and evidence relating to benefit claims, carrying out detailed assessments of capital, income or other resources relevant to benefits entitlement.

- Receive enquiries, claims, evidence and supporting information from potential benefits applicants and from DWP and other support agencies.

Benefit Assessment Officer candidates must have:

- Academy system experience. 
- Experience of working in a housing benefits environment (essential).
- A good working knowledge of benefits law and procedures.
- Experience of customer/public contact requiring good communication skills. 
- Experience of accurately maintaining and interpreting personal and financial data.

4 GCSEs/ O Levels Grade A - C or equivalent including Mathematics and English or GNVQ/NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent or at least 3 years demonstrable work experience

Experience of using Microsoft Office products to the level of the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) Certificate of Competence (four modules)

Experience of using electronic document management IT systems would be advantageous.
